Hello. I have been reading this "amazing" novel called "The Lord of the Flies" by William Golding. The major theme of this novel is: Kids need adults to take care of them. Without adults, kids will be out of control. I totally agree with this theme. This theme was well portrayed because the kids stranded in the island of nowhere caused total chaos of murder and fights. They always fought about who the leader should be, and there were no rules regardless of doing what is right for them. As time went by in the island, the island became more dangerous and hectic.
This theme is important to a teenager living in 2008 because many teenagers struggle through following the rules of the adults, and many wish they could be independent. I, too, sometimes struggle through these situations. This book portrays that kids should obey and listen to the rules given by the adults because it is for the good of ourselves. Rules help us to do what is right. So, kids listen up: obey your parents. :)

I don't think that's the correct theme. The kids were pretending as adults. At first, everything is fine and people are happy. But soon, there is disorder, chaos and even a death. In the end, the kids are saved by an adult. Now replace the kids with adults. Who will save them?
